Andrea and Julie are starting a women’s Mahjong group in Healdsburg. Good tiles, good company, and something good to drink.
No experience necessary.
How this started
We wanted a better excuse to get together.
Andrea and Julie started talking about something pretty simple: how do you meet more of the women who live around you, get to know people outside your usual circles, and actually make the time to see each other regularly?
Andrea had recently moved to Healdsburg from elsewhere in Sonoma County, while Julie had been here longer. Comparing notes, they realized they were both after the same thing: more ways to connect with women around town and build real local friendships.
They kicked around a few ideas and landed on Mahjong. Neither of them is an expert, which honestly made it more fun: bring in someone who actually knows how to play, get a few tables going, open something good to drink, and invite a mix of women who already know each other and women who haven’t met yet.
The hope is that the first gathering is just the beginning. If people enjoy it, we’d love for this to turn into a regular reason to get around a table together.

What to expect
You don’t need to know how to play. You just need to be interested in learning.
Start from scratch
No Mahjong experience necessary. We'll bring in an experienced teacher for the first gathering to walk everyone through the game and get us playing.
Give it a little time
Mahjong isn't something most people master in one night. It takes a few sessions for the rules and rhythm to click, so we're hoping to bring together women who are excited to give it a real try.
Meet people around the table
The game is the excuse. The bigger idea is to spend time with women from around Healdsburg, including people you might not otherwise get to know.
Keep playing
If we have a good group, we'd love to keep the tables going with future games, refresher sessions, and regular get-togethers around town.

Meet Andrea & Julie
Andrea Palacios
Originally from Colombia, Andrea has called Sonoma County home for several years and moved to Healdsburg with her husband and two kids in the summer of 2026. As they settled into town, she found herself wanting to meet more women locally and build stronger relationships with the families around them.
Andrea is also an entrepreneur and the founder of Hue Solstice, a boutique interior design and home staging studio based in Healdsburg. When she's not working on a home, she's usually happiest with people gathered in one.
